project scope
Standard air-cooled chillers become less efficient and less effective when they are needed most: when it’s hot outside. This facility’s refrigeration chiller was a prime target to help reduce electricity costs and ensure chiller reliability.
peak+ solution results
After a season of use, Beale AFB commissioned a study by the Western Cooling Efficiency Center on the performance of the PEAK+ system. PEAK+ reduced annual chiller electricity use by 22% while dropping the peak demand for this unit by 20% on hot summer days.
Water consumption of the PEAK+ system was negligible; accounting for only 2% of the annual dollar savings per year. The system achieved Beale AFB’s electricity reduction goal.
